Whats this all about?
I want Mars Confectionary to reverse their decision on the branding of Snickers and change the name back to Marathon. There are a couple of reasons for this, first of all, let's face it, Snickers is a silly name. It sounds a bit too much like "knickers" to be taken seriously and it's not even a real word. Mars changed the name because they wanted to standardise the brand globally, but in Britain we are proud to be different to everyone else. We want the name Marathon to be brought back because it's called Snickers everywhere else! It's part of British history, it's a part of our culture, and it should be restored. Too many things get chopped and changed by the advertising men, because a focus group session showed that if this package was that colour they would sell 9% more units. It's crazy and we should all be fighting tooth and nail to stop it. The changing of big brand names is an example of this, and enough is enough. BRING BACK MARATHON! If you feel the same, then sign the petition now! Of course, it is worth pointing out, that if Mars Did bring back the name, the resulting publicity would undoubtedly result in a huge increase in sales.
